I converted them into big yellow catfish diddy poles for river fishing and managed to catch several big catfish in the heat of the summer (have literally never done that in 20 years of river fishing!). Easy to setup and effective. Worth trying it, if you've been thinking about it. Must have for beaver trapping.
Love the rods I use both 8’and 10’. They are light to carry in and I leave the slide on the rod and connect trap with a quick link. Real easy to use
works perfect for my needs . wish you had the 3/8 for it would be a tad lighter .
